I want to thank you guys for sticking with me through my two month hiatus. I really needed the break so I could get back into the proper mindset of making Zombie Roomie. If you know someone who tapped out and hasn't been keeping up with what's going on with ZR, let them know it's back.
I had been working on a comic that I wasn't sure was the comic I wanted to be doing. That phrase was brought up a few times to my comic friends and in the end I decided that I needed to take a break or I'd end up actually quitting ZR.
During the time I took off I got pretty excited about the new direction that I want to take the strip in and I started working on fixing somethings that have bugged me about the comic for a while.
I redesigned some characters...
Some characters wont be seen again... They're not dead, they just wont be used again.
There was a lot of thought put into renaming John, but in the end I decided against it.
There has been a shift in how I think about writing a strip. In the past, I thought about approaching each strip as a joke but that has proved difficult every once and a while which would lead to frustration and I'd end up taking a day or two off every few months to try and figure out what to do next... That shouldn't be the case with my new idea of story first/jokes add.
The same beat-beat-joke based writing style was also a big reason for the three day a week comic update schedule. With the new style I'm able to pull the trigger on going five days a week.
