I had the hardest time getting the "right" tone to start this arc. This arc is going to feel very different from the last one... and I wanted to get off to a bit of a silly introduction before we hit the important bits. Jules has asked Jack to quit smoking since as a coroner he's seen the lungs of smokers and what awful things cigarettes can do to a normal person's lungs. Luckily for Jack, as a werewolf, his lungs are fine. I'm not going to lie, this is the arc where Jules finds out about supernaturals in the world. It's been a bit of a stretch to believe he hasn't figured it out yet, but go with it since the average person doesn't want to know there are things that really do go bump in the night.
