Long, long before this storyline was fleshed out this was a gag I wanted to include. At the time, I had no real idea on how I was going to do the soaked effect on John in the reveal panel. In the end it was still difficult to get right, and it could still probably use more work... but, I do think it reads as he's drenched. We also see another side of Jamal. When he's at home he's much more laid back than when we've always seen him in the past. I wanted to have his home be fancy and have his costuming be radically different. I gave him the Hugh Hefner smoking jacket and made sure to draw him with a much more friendly set of expressions. I had originally planned for this storyline to wrap up today, but in the last week I decided to change up the ending a little. In that regard I replotted the outline and added another epilogue kind of strip for Monday.
