In the legacy timeline we saw Lyn's dad as the first of her family, other than Jack... but I wanted to go with Gramps first here for several reasons.

The main being I felt anyone else "threatening" John would feel too mean spirited. Gramps' design lets me add the fangs and claws and he still feels folks-y.

The way I have this arc written is there are some rhyming beats where similar things happen to John and George at the different locations, so initially I was having John reach out to shake Gramps' hand, it's actually under the showered balloon... I just didn't feel it was super necessary and changed the layout from repeating the two in one panel layout from panel two into the initial layout for panel three.... so I moved that balloon to John in panel two and gave Gramps three by himself.
