There was a conscious effort to give the girls of ZR a story that didn't involve them dating anyone as the main focus for their plot lines. Also there are some changes in store for Zoey that are spun out of her talk with Kristin Stewbanks in the last arc that I wanted to have land during a Zoey story... So a story about her job, which is another aspect we knew about her life kinda fit. Eventually I'll get a story to resolve things between her and George's mom... but I wanted to set the table first with this arc.
